Jonah Knapp-Wilson is a composer, performer, and improviser of electroacoustic music. His work focuses on realizing new methods of performance through the collaboration of acoustic instruments and the electronic reinterpretation of their sound. He performs mainly on tenor saxophone and Max MSP, and constantly strives to combine the two as seamlessly as possible.
He received his BA in music at Bard College in 2022, where he studied under Matthew Sargent, Sarah Hennies, Kyle Gann, Jessica Jones, and briefly Matthew Gantt. During his time there he premiered many of his pieces including Akousmatikoi (2019), for you beautiful ones my thought is not changeable (2021), and Moments of Affinity (2022).
